Our core team consists of highly qualified and experienced practitioners each of whom brings a different set of skills and talents to our team.

We share our knowledge and support each other in delivering best practice in everything we do. We are committed to reflective practice, striving for continual improvement and working together to deliver an exceptional childcare experience for the children and families using our service.

Susan McGhee

Chief Executive, FCSS Head Office

Susan has a long and varied career in the early education and childcare sector and brings with her lots of skills, knowledge and exciting ideas for extending and enhancing our services.

Susan is a mum to three daughters and used traditional nursery and out of school services for their care as they were growing up.

Lesley Tait

Head of Quality Assurance and Best Practice

Lesley is the Head of Quality Assurance and Best Practice at FCSS, prior to this role she has been focused on Early Years for over 30 years.  She is committed to being a part of making Scotland “the best place in the world to grow up, and to give all our children the best possible start in life.”  

Lesley has been with FCSS since its inception and has seen the service develop from a bright idea to a wonderful childcare provision.

Head of HR and Health & Safety Compliance.

Fiona has worked in the childcare sector for 25 years. She joined FCSS in 2020 as Regional Lead for the Highlands, moving her way up through the organisation as Head of Workforce Strategy where she supported the team in areas including HR, Health & Safety, Training and Development. One of her proudest achievements was to gain SQA Accreditation so that FCSS can now offer qualifications in a new module Flexibility Within the Childcare Environment.

Alison joined the team in July 2019 as Software Development Manager and has been helping co-design the new package with parents, nursery managers and the development team. She is always looking for input from parents and managers to ensure the design of the package is right for everyone so if you have any thoughts please contact her.

Flexible Childcare Services Manager, Keith

Eleanor is an experienced Manager and has worked in the early year’s sector for over thirty years. She joined Flexible Childcare Services in July 2020, setting up and managing the new Keith service. Prior to joining FCSS she gained her knowledge and skills from a variety of roles working with children from ages six weeks up to twelve years. Over many years in the sector Eleanor has gained a broad range of qualifications and is currently in her third year of the BA in Childhood Practice.

Flexible Childcare Services Manager, Tillydrone

Kimberly joined Flexible Childcare Services Scotland as the Service Manager for NESCol in 2019. In 2022 she became the Manager of our new Tillydrone Early Learning and Childcare Centre in Aberdeen. She has over 10 years experience in the Early Years and Childcare sector.

Hi I’m Shona and I’m one of the Service Managers supporting ASN Groups in Aberdeenshire. 

I started off in childcare back in 2009 but then left and went in to a career of catering but after many years I decided that I wanted to get in to childcare.

Lindsey is the Named Person in charge of our Kilmarnock service and her role is to support the team and service users in Kilmarnock with the aim to build a truly unique and flexible service in our location at CentreStage.

Megan Watt

Service Manager, Dundee

My name is Megan and I am the new Service Manager in Dundee.

Previously I was the ASN Coordinator covering all of our specialised groups in Aberdeenshire and I’m delighted to be able to support the team and our service users in my new role.
I have worked in both special and mainstream schools in Fife and Dundee for 5 years supporting many children, developing a wide range of knowledge. I have most recently finished working in Perth and Kinross as a pupil support assistant where my knowledge of Makaton and Boardmaker were developed significantly.

Flexible Childcare Service Manager, Cummings Park, Aberdeen

Amy is a fully qualified childcare practitioner with SVQ Levels 2,3 and 4. She has over 16 years or childcare experience and her role is to manage the setting, support her team and act as a role model so that the children & families using the service get the best possible care.

Kayleigh is the Assistant Manager for our Cummings Park Service in Aberdeen. She is a fully qualified practitioner with an SVQ 3 and currently working towards her SVQ4.

Flexible Childcare Service Manager, NESCol

Kim began her career in childcare in 2013 where she attended Banff and Buchan College. Kim achieved a qualification in Childcare and Education at Higher before completing her SVQ Level 3 qualification in 2016 through employment.

Kelly Warrender

Flexible Childcare Service Manager, Portlethen

Kelly has 15 years experience working with children aged 0-12 in various childcare settings across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

Kelly has worked in Senior/Management posts for the last 8 years and strives to provide a safe, stimulating environment for the children.

My name is Naomi and I am the temporary Service Manager for the ASN groups within Aberdeenshire. I have three years experience working within the childcare sector. I have always been passionate about promoting children’s development and observing their progress.

Head of Finance.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants since 2000, Paul has over twenty year’s experience leading businesses through change in a variety of sectors including software, engineering and legal services.  Paul recently joined the team at FCSS as he recognises the impact that the provision of flexible childcare can have in removing barriers to work and helping to reduce poverty.

My name is Amy and I am an Aberdeenshire ASN manager. I started working in childcare in 2020 working as a support worker where I gained experience within all age groups to then be qualified within 7 months and later go on to being the Room Lead.
