by Fiona Ednie, Head of Workforce Strategy & Regional Lead for Highland & Moray, FCSS
Just when I thought my 20+ years career in the childcare sector had reached a plateau along came FCSS, and only 10 months in to working with this fast paced innovative and unique organisation I find myself on yet another exciting path with the fabulous title of “Head of Workforce Strategy”. This role will encompass everything that is great with the third sector –
- valuing our workforce,
- providing opportunities, training and skills to our workforce,
- opening up the sector to people who have never worked in childcare but have a passion for it like we do
In short – empowering our workforce!
The opportunities are endless and I plan to explore, develop and share them far and wide across Scotland!
FCSS and the third sector in general could not operate without people, they are our most valuable resource, and having been given the task of ensuring we attract, equip, empower and value each and every one of them is an honour – as well as a challenge!
Of course my heart still lies in the North of Scotland and I am fortunate enough to be able to stay involved in all things Highland and Moray by remaining as Regional lead for these areas in additional to my new national role.
54 years old and nowhere near ready to retire!
Life does not become better by chance, it becomes better through change!
