The Disability Confident Scheme for employers is a U.K. government scheme that is, “creating a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.”
To achieve this, we have reviewed our recruitment processes, making them more inclusive and accessible and we have demonstrated our commitment to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to contribute their skills and experience.
We have long fostered a culture that embraces diversity, equality and accessibility and this accreditation now demonstrates those activities.
By becoming Disability Confident we also complement our own organisational values where we put People First; the children and families we support, the communities we work with, our partners and funders and of course our own team.
By firmly implementing this ethos into our recruitment process, and throughout our organisation, we can ensure that we have a diverse workforce that includes people with different perspectives, skills and experiences which will ensure that the services we provide are more inclusive and better support those who rely on our services.
