Suzy is a self-employed makeup artist with two young children in Aberdeen. Due to the nature of her business she often takes last minute bookings which often start early in the mornings or late in the afternoon. She needed a flexible childcare option that would complement her working hours.
Almost all of the nurseries in her area only offered full or half days of childcare. Most of them opened after 8.30am and closed before 5.30pm which would have restricted her own business hours.
Concerned that she would have to close her business she took to the internet and discovered a new nursery in the area which had extended opening hours from 8am-6pm. The nursery also offered a pay-as-you-go flexible childcare model that would allow her to maintain her makeup business.
“The flexible model at Cummings Park really helps if I have last minute bookings or weddings, which require me to leave early morning and sometimes all day. It’s also really helpful having the option to pay for extra hours when I need them too and the fees are great value for a nursery in Aberdeen.
“Having the flexibility definitely allows me to have the option to work more hours during the week too.
