Leighann Ramsay

Assistant Manager, Kilmarnock

My name is Leighann, I am the Assistant Service Manager in Kilmarnock. 

I qualified in 2018 with my HNC in Childhood Practice before working within the private sector for almost 7 years. During this time, I attended University of Glasgow and gained my BA in Childhood Practice.  

I have pursued a career in Early Year since secondary school, attending Early Years courses that were offered at the school. I obtaining my National Certificate Level 4 and 5 while also volunteering at Annanhill Primary School in the lower primary section.  

Additionally, I spent 3 months in America taking part in a cultural exchange programme working with children aged 4-6 where I explored the differences in approaches to childcare and engaging with children. Applying what I learned and combining it with the knowledge I already have. 

In my current role of Assistant Manager, I support Lorna in the day to day running of the nursery, overseeing both rooms and providing support to the team. I also spend time working on the floor in both rooms to help provide a quality service. 

In my spare time I enjoy reading a range of books as well as spending time with my family and two dogs. I also enjoy playing video games of various genres.
