We are delighted to share our latest Social Impact Report covering the year 2023/2024.
In this report we look at the impact our services are having on the children and families we support and how this is creating positive societal and economic change across the country.
For instance, our early learning and childcare services provided more than 300,000 hours of flexible childcare, an increase of 30% on the previous year.
Our research shows that one of the main benefits of flexible childcare is it’s ability to increase parental employment, and now 86% of the parents we support are in part time or full time employment.
Thanks to the combined impact of increased working hours and the reduction of childcare costs associated with flexible childcare, 97% of the parents we support told us that their household income has increased; 24% said it had increased by more than £5,000 / year.
On top of our ELC services, our settings aimed at children with additional support needs in Aberdeenshire 191 parents and carers to gain valuable respite, helping to improve their mental wellbeing and allowing them to increase their other caring responsibilities.
Added to this, we asked our team about the impacts we’re having on their lives, how flexible working patterns were helping them and if they enjoyed working at FCSS.
