Last night (Wednesday 26th March 2025) FCSS launched it’s 5 Year Strategic Plan in an event held in Scottish Parliament hosted by Jackie Dunbar MSP.
FCSS was created in 2020 after One Parent Families Scotland found that single parents were unable to accept offers of employment due to a lack of accessible and flexible childcare.
Since then, and despite numerous challenges, the charity has grown significantly, delivering a flexible childcare model where parents can book by the hour and change their bookings to meet exiting work, educational or family commitments. The model is proven to support those most in need, reducing levels of poverty and supporting families to improve their financial standing.

The event gave the charity and it’s stakeholders an opportunity to celebrate these achievements but also an opportunity to look forward at how the charity plans to increase this impact over the next 5 years.
