Covid-19 Childcare Challenge

Flexible Childcare Services Scotland, Scottish Government and Local Authorities are working together to deliver childcare and early learning solutions for Key Worker Parents allowing them to continue working to support the nation throughout the Corvid-19 pandemic.

We’ve therefore developed our Flexibility Pathway Toolkit so that it can capture the requirements from Key Worker Parents, Childcare Providers, and Childcare and Educational staff looking to support.

We’re rolling this out in two phases.

Phase 1 (Mid April):

Key Worker Parents can:

  • Add relevant child information and child-care requirements for more than one child
  • Find and view a pre-filtered list of Childcare Providers near to home and work
  • View spaces available from each Childcare Provider to match to Parent requirements
  • Manage profile and requirements via a secure login

Childcare providers can:

  • Register online, add centre details and service information
  • Add childcare spaces and availability by day and age range
  • Update and manage available spaces in real time so that
  • Parents can manage their childcare needs

Phase 2 (May):

Childcare providers can:

  • Search for and find staff who are qualified and available for work
  • Book staff members for a shift using an automated booking system
  • Use automated booking system to call and text available staff in order to guarantee that the shift is filled
  • View and manage all staff bookings made

Childcare/education Staff available for work can:

  • Register online, adding personal info, qualifications and experience
  • Add their availability on a weekly basis so they can be found by childcare providers
  • Accept and decline booking offers online, via text message or by automated phone calls
  • Manage and update their profile
