Childcare Practitioner – Hillside

We’re looking for an unqualified or qualified Childcare Practitioner to join our team in our Hillside Breakfast and Out of School Club.

This is a part time role, 16.5 hours per week term time – Monday 3-6pm, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7.30am-9am and 3-6pm. You will be paid £13.45-£13.79 per hour depending on your qualifications and experience.

Your qualifications and experience:

We are looking for a qualified or unqualified childcare practitioner to come and work in our breakfast & after school club. Ideal candidates will have some experience working with children.

Hours of work:

This is a part time post working 16.5 hours per week term time with the possibility of additional hours during holiday periods.

Term time: Monday 3-6pm, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7.30am-9am and 3-6pm.

School holidays: Additional hours may be available.

Rate of pay:

The rate of pay for this post is £13.45-£13.79 per hour.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high quality childcare for children; they will be expected to support the Service Manager and the existing team. Duties will include caring for school aged children before and after school in a school environment, preparing and serving snacks, setting up and carrying out activities including arts and crafts, physical activities and general tidying and cleaning. This role would be ideal for someone looking to start or further progress a career in childcare and will provide a pathway to childcare qualifications.

Our Breakfast and Out of School Club operates at Hillside Primary School and has been designed to meet the needs of the children and families that use it. The service provides children with a unique learning experience before and after school and throughout the school holidays and is part of the charity Flexible Childcare Services Scotland (FCSS). At Hillside Breakfast & After School Club we will strive to provide high quality care in a unique environment where all children can flourish; physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The Club is open before and after school and throughout the school holidays helping parents to stay in employment or education. The club is also available to children from other schools.
