FCSS Social Impact Report 2021-2022

We are delighted to share our Social Impact Report for the year 2021-2022.

The Social Impact Report highlights some of the positive impacts that we’ve had over the course of the last financial year and how are services are supporting children & families.

During this year our Early Learning and School Age Childcare services supported 369 children with more than 120,000 hours of childcare. Our new services at Tillydrone and Cummings Park opened in January and March of the year and we therefore wont be able to gage the full impact that these services are having until next year.

Across Aberdeenshire and the Highland’s our services for children with Additional Support Needs have supported 448 children, in Saturday clubs, after school sessions, holiday play schemes, respite, home based care and community support services. These services support children with a range of needs, often quite complex, and deliver a real life line to families who would otherwise really struggle to meet their child’s needs.

The report also takes evidence from the families we support and demonstrates the positive impact that flexible childcare can have on children and families. After all, access to flexible, affordable childcare increases families earning power and is one of the simplest steps we can take to tackle child poverty in our communities.
