FCSS has been created to challenge the inflexibility of current childcare provision across the country and to ensure equity of early years’ and childcare experience for all children regardless of family circumstances, location or specific needs.
To do this we have designed a trilogy of services including direct service delivery, a support package for providers adopting a more flexible model and an accreditation scheme.
We are now seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our management team. Reporting directly to the CEO the successful applicant will provide leadership and management support to ensure continuous improvement and quality of service delivery across our 20 (and growing) services around Scotland.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, diversity, social justice, anti-discrimination and protecting and caring for children.
This role will involve working with early years, out of school care and additional support needs groups.
The main responsibilities and duties of the role are:
- To work in conjunction with our Service Managers to ensure highest possible service standards at all times.
- To ensure our services are exemplar models of flexible early learning and childcare through sector leading best practice.
- To develop and promote effective working relationships both within the group and with external partners, regulators and other relevant stakeholders.
- To drive the quality of practice and provision through compliance with group policies and procedures, statutory frameworks and relevant legislation.
Hours: 35 per week
Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum

Location: As the majority of our current provision is in the Aberdeenshire area our preference is to recruit from within or near that area. Travel will be required to our services in Inverness and Dundee and to new services in other locations as the organisation grows.
Holidays: Annual leave entitlement is 25 days and 12 Public holidays.
Pension: You will be auto-enrolled from your start date and once the appointment has been confirmed after probation you are eligible to join the full Employer’s Pension scheme with the Pensions Trust. FCSS pays 3% of your salary and you pay a minimum of 2%. If you are already in a pension scheme, other arrangements may be possible.
Training, support and supervision: You will be inducted into the business and will be supported in your role by your line manager and our management team.
