Board Member at FCSS
In my day job I am a Consultant and Executive Coach helping clients to achieve their business goals with a particular focus on the People and Change aspects of their business. I help clients by drawing upon my experience within the C-suite arena in Banking, Financial Services, Retail and the NHS. I am a former Executive Committee Member who has led businesses through complex and challenging situations such as the banking crisis, major reorganisations and delivering complex transformation programmes. I hold an M.Ed in Training and Development, I am a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and I am a volunteer with Women in Banking and Finance.
What matters to me is supporting opportunities for women in the workplace, and affordable and flexible childcare is just one of the ways we can help to overcome the barriers women face. I also understand the vital role childcare can play in helping young people to rise out of poverty. As a parent myself, and coming from a deprived area of Glasgow, I am excited to be supporting FCSS as they work towards helping young people succeed through high quality and flexible early years care.
I joined the Board at FCSS because I believe in their mission and I love their innovative approaches to tackling the challenges parents and childcare providers face including digital solutions and testing and proving new models for childcare. Everyone I have met from the team and the Board of Trustees has blown me away with their commitment and professionalism.
For fun I love to write children’s stories for my nieces and nephews and create poems to mark significant events in my family and friends’ lives. I am learning Portuguese and try to walk or run 5k every day while listening to the latest non-fiction book I am reading with my Book Club.
