Meet Jane, Mobile Crèche Service Manager

Hi, what’s your Name?

Hi I’m Jane and I’m the new Mobile Crèche Service Manager.

What age group do you work with and where?

The Mobile Crèche is a really unique service that can be booked for corporate or private events. We work to create a whole package of childcare and can support children from 0-16 years old.

I’m also working with 2 year olds in Peterhead and Banchory. At the groups, we aim to support the children in all aspects of their development; we promote independence, building relationships and exploring areas of their community.

What qualifications or how many years of experience do you have?

I’ve been working in childcare for more than 10 years and I have and HNC in Early Education and Childcare Level 3 and Playwork Level 4. It’s a career I absolutely love and it’s one of those jobs that I’m genuinely excited to wake up for each day.

What does an average day look like and what types of activities do you do?

Each day is very varied; I can be in the office one minute and then working within our settings with the children the next. My goal at the moment is to work alongside the team to develop and improve the Mobile Crèche service so that we can support even more families. If you’re planning a wedding let me know, we can help!

Give me an example of some of the challenges you face:

I’m new into the role so my greatest challenge at the moment is getting to know the rest of the team, the parents and the children within my settings – names have never been my forte but I will get there. I’m not afraid of a good challenge! I am solutions focused and try to find a positive means of moving forward in any situation.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is helping to provide a high-quality service for the families we support. Seeing the children thrive in this environment is all the reward I need.

What’s TV series are you watching or what show would you recommend and why?

I’ve just signed up to Britbox & I’m binge watching all the old programmes from my childhood.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?

I always wanted to be a police officer, I think I watched too many crime dramas growing up. Thankfully somewhere along the line I changed my mind and I was lucky enough to find a job in childcare…there’s still a lot of drama but much less crime – although I do have to keep my eyes peeled during snack time!
